Part-Time Operations and Outreach Manager
CRVN (Capital Region Vegan Network)
Position Summary:
CRVN, a non-profit organization dedicated to building a thriving vegan community in the Capital Region, is seeking a Part-Time Operations and Outreach Manager to manage the organization’s administrative, event, and membership activities. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, this hands-on, collaborative role requires an experienced professional with excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Management: Oversee the logistics and execution of CRVN’s monthly member events (e.g., membership meetings, holiday parties, social events, educational workshops) as well as the organization’s one major annual event – VEG OUT. Manage venue bookings, vendor coordination, volunteer recruitment and training, and marketing/promotion.
- Marketing and Communications: Support marketing, communications, and public relations efforts, including digital and print materials, media coordination, and brand consistency, as operational priorities allow. Assist with content updates, press materials, media outreach, and management of photography and digital media assets.
- Social Media and Website Management: Support social media, website, and email communications efforts, including content creation, account management, and audience engagement, as operational priorities allow. Assist with website updates, email campaigns, and tracking key communications and engagement metrics.
- Membership Administration: Manage the full membership lifecycle, including onboarding new members and maintaining the membership database. Promote membership and drive retention.
- General Administration: Provide administrative support to the Board, including meeting coordination, record-keeping, and special projects as needed. Serve as the main point of contact for CRVN members and the general public. Check the PO box on a regular basis and make timely deposits to the bank. Access and transport tabling and event materials, merchandise, etc., to and from the storage unit.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in nonprofit administration, event planning, or volunteer management
- Demonstrated skills in building relationships with diverse stakeholders, data management, and software proficiency (Google Suite, CRMs, etc.)
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for the vegan lifestyle and commitment to CRVN’s mission
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the Board of Directors
- Availability to work nights and weekends for CRVN events and meetings
- Fully vegan with the intention to remain so for the foreseeable future
- Resides in the greater Capital District area
- Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the region
Compensation:
$23/hour, 20 hours per week. This is a part-time, non-exempt position.
