Vegan Organization Hosts Largest Capital Region Veg Festival

Founded in 2005 by five area-vegans, the Albany Vegan Network has been the capital region’s longest-standing vegan and vegetarian organization. This not-for-profit aims to support those interested in healthful living, environmental sustainability, and animal rights.

The organization is now preparing to host its ninth annual Albany VegFest on Saturday, June 4th; a vegan food focused and educational festival featuring more than seventy vendors and exhibitors, five dynamic speakers, a kids’ corner, and more!

“This is going to be one of our biggest festivals to-date. We’re over capacity with our vendors; more than a dozen of which are food-centric, serving a wide variety of vegan foods including pizza, hot dogs, ice cream, and everything in between. We have a house band this year- playing throughout the day. And of course our awesome speakers that include health and wellness experts, and professional chefs,” said VegFest Coordinator and one of the founding members of the Albany Vegan Network, Jan Lajeunesse.
